In his introductory essay to this survey of Alberto Campo Baeza's projects and finished buildings, Antonio Pizza begins by listing the influences on the Spanish architect's career since 1971, the year in which he graduated from the Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid. In particular, Pizza rightly draws attention to the importance of what Campo Baeza learned from Alejandro de la Sota, one of the most gifted of Spain's postwar architects.

Three ways to understand architecture, would be words of introductory by the designer, an essay of appreciation by a critic, and a four dimensional observation (visit) to gain physical and sequential feeling about the building.
This book, accurately provide the first two ways; and somewhat create tons of question mostly contain 'why' and 'how'. That questions, for me especially, are questions of a premature disagreement, that should furthermore being proven by the third way.
Why, he decide to create a high enclosed cubic to leave in, put a high wall to seal the space, when it is not that necessary.
Why, he choose a difficult way employing such kind of diagonal light shaped by skylight and void, while this can be easily achieved if he ripped that cubic a bit?
For me, I can't stand living in a house staring a solid white wall, with the outside surrounding so beautifully whispering to my ear. No matter how poetic it would be.
This is a kind of architecture of solemn living, de-attached from its surrounding.
For quite some time, of course yes, maybe it is genius amd unique.
Other than that aspect, I admire how he create such a good zone to order the space function.
